Healthy and Delicious Dairy Snacks

The start of school means busy mornings getting breakfast served and lunches packed. I’m always looking for quick and easy ways to serve dairy to my family. Dairy provides nine essential nutrients, such as calcium and Vitamin D, which are important for strong bones and a healthy diet. Scientific studies show that enjoying 3 servings of milk, cheese or yogurt as part of a nutrient-rich, balanced diet may help to maintain a healthy weight. 

My boys especially like yogurt (in a tube or cup), cheese (string, cubed or sliced), and cereal with milk. Another easy way to provide a serving of dairy and fruit are smoothies. They are simple to make with fruit, yogurt, milk and ice. To make it even easier, try Yoplait Smoothie (in the freezer section of the grocery store) – just add one cup of milk to this smoothie blend and you have a delicious serving of fruit and dairy.
