Celebrating June “Dairy Month” in Our Community

In preparation to observe June “Dairy” month, Lynda, Director of Geauga County Tourism invited me to create a dairy display in their office window.

National Dairy Month began in 1937 as a way to promote milk. It was originally created to stimulate dairy demand during periods of peak production, but has developed into an annual celebration focusing on the dairy industries contributions.

My sons, Garrett and Jack, and I had fun constructing a dairy themed exhibit that will be on display the next 2 ½ weeks.

We started with an empty Geauga County Tourism window...

The boys had fun posing in the window as passers by watched....

Jack helped carry things into the window....

These milk can stools were heavy, time to take a break.....

The boys take time to play between decorating.....

Garrett with a pitcher of "milk"......

Garrett and Jack hard at work in the window.....

The boys examine our work.....

Here's the final product.....

We're proud of our work....
If you're driving through Middlefield, check out our window display and let me know what you think.

Several people drive and walk by this window each day. We hope those passing by think about the dairy farmers who work hard each day to bring consumers delicious and nutritious dairy products.

  1. I actually got started a June Dairy Month post yesterday! What an exciting way for your boys to help share dairy! I remember setting up a 4-H display at a local bank for 4-H week, picking out which of our projects we wanted people to see. It's pretty exciting when someone mentions to you that they liked your display! Great job!
